The Honeywell L3000-SIA is a LYNX Plus wireless alarm control panel that has all the same great features of the regular Honeywell L3000 LYNX Plus, but also has programming settings that make it CP-01 compliant. An alarm control panel that is CP-01 compliant meets the standards defined in the ANSI/SIA CP-01 standards document. Many cities and states require CP-01 compliant alarm control panels with every new alarm installation and some even require an existing alarm control panel to be upgraded to a CP-01 version when the existing system causes frequent false alarms. The Security Industry Association (SIA) published the ANSI/SIA CP-01 document to provide a guide to all alarm control panel manufacturers. A control panel manufactured with the CP-01 standards as a guide will result in a greatly reduced number of false alarms when compared to the same alarm control panel manufactured without regard to the CP-01 standards.

The L3000-SIA LYNX Plus wireless alarm control panel is recommended in all cities and states even if your city or state does not require a SIA CP-01 installation. The programming settings of the L3000-SIA wireless alarm control panel are set by default to reduce the chance of setting off a false alarm. You can of course change the settings but doing so must be a conscious decision. By choosing a SIA CP-01 alarm control panel, you are helping to fix the false alarm problem. If the false alarm problem went unchecked, eventually all municipalities would stop responding to alarms and the alarm monitoring industry would die. Unfortunately, for a long time the number of false alarms continued to rise every year and no one in the alarm industry was doing anything to stop the problem. Police departments were sending officers out to investigate alarms which (9) times out of (10) were false alarms. Valuable time and resources were being wasted and police officers were getting into the habit of treating all alarms as false alarms. Therefore, police response times increased and even worse, some police departments stopped responding at all. SIA finally stepped in and created the ANSI/SIA CP-01 document as a way to protect the alarm industry. As more and more CP-01 compliant alarm systems are installed, false alarms will become less of a problem and police departments will start treating alarms called in by central station as real emergencies again.

The Honeywell L3000-SIA LYNX Plus wireless alarm control panel has the following programming settings that separate it from a traditional L3000 LYNX Plus wireless alarm control panel. In programming field *31, the ‘Single Alarm Sounding per Zone’ feature can be set to ‘0’, ‘1’ or ‘2’. If ‘0’ is selected, the “alarm sounding per zone” will match the “number of reports in arming period” set in field *92. If ‘1’ is selected, there will be (1) report and if ‘2’ is selected, there will be (2) reports. In field *34, the ‘Exit Delay’ feature can be set to any number of seconds between (45) and (96) or (120) seconds. In field *35 ‘Entry Delay 1’ and field *36 ‘Entry Delay 2’, you can choose from 30-96, (120), (180) and (240) seconds. The entry delay plus the dialer delay should not exceed (1) minute to comply with SIA standards. In field *39, the ‘Cross Zone Timer’ feature can be set with no cross zoning or you can choose selections between (15) seconds and (225) seconds in (15) second increments. The L3000-SIA comes with the ‘Cross Zone Timer’ feature set to ‘0’ for no cross zoning. In field *40, if you set the ‘PABX Access Code/Call Waiting Disable’ feature because you have call waiting, you must enable the ‘Call Wait Cancel’ feature in field *47. In field *50, the ‘Burglary Abort Window’ feature can be set to (15), (30) or (45) seconds. In field *57, the ‘False Alarm Options’ feature is set to ‘7’ by default which enables ‘Cancel Alarm Display’, ‘Auto Stay Arming’ and ‘Exit Time Restart/Reset’. In field *59 the ‘Exit Error Alarm Report Code’ is always enabled with the L3000-SIA wireless alarm control panel. In *68, the ‘Cancel Report Code’ feature is enabled by default but can be disabled. In *69, the ‘Recent Closing Report Code’ feature is always enabled. Finally, in field *92, the ‘Swinger Shutdown’ feature is set to ‘1’ by default so shutdown occurs after one alarm activation.
